Narration In Pursuance Of Books Nick Nightmare Investigates

In this frenetic collection of stories taken from the files of Nick Nightmare, Private Eye, the intrepid pulp hero is thrown into a murky world of crawling horrors, spawned by the Old Ones as they seek to rise up from their primordial oceanic depths, ‘when the stars are right.’ Whether he is shooting it out with power-crazed acolytes in his native New York, or slipping across into other dimensions to battle the spreading plague of invasion, Nightmare is never far from the long, clammy reach of the things from the Deep, bizarre artifacts of power, decrepit villages and citadels, magic and voodoo. Life for the private eye is an endless slalom of mayhem.

Nick Nightmare Investigates includes a team-up with Damian Paladin in a brand new, full-blooded action thriller, written in collaboration with Mike Chinn.

Nick Nightmare Investigates is a potent blend of HP Lovecraft, Mickey Spillane and the roller coaster adventures of the golden age of the pulps.

Judgment About Books Nick Nightmare Investigates
Adrian Cole was born in Plymouth, Devonshire in 1949. He is currently the Director of College Resources in a large secondary school in Bideford, where he now lives with his wife, Judy, son Sam, and daughter Katia. He remains best known for his Dream Lords trilogy as well as his young adult novels, Moorstones and The Sleep of Giants.Couple of years ago, I had thought that I have had enough of Lovecraft and his mythical Old Gods. Then several things happened. I got reintroduced to C.J. Hendersons hardboiled operatives taking on those nasties in a bloodier and livelier manner, than they used to in all those anthologies babbling about Cthulhu et.al. Then I got hooked to the works of Willie Meikle, whose Glasgow-based PI Derek Adams made the cases of wisecracking & scarred heroes taking on the Mythos-spawned beasties a lot

Great book easy and fun read I want more of the Private Eye, Public Fist!

Lots of silly pulpy fun. Could have done with more non-male characters - there's nothing to stop a police officer or two being ladies, for example - to say nothing of authors, sea captains, shopkeepers, & retired superheroes - but this is a flaw in the source material as well, so I'm not going to complain too hard about that. The writing is fast-paced, descriptions are creative, and the plots of the various short stories are engaging enough, if occasionally a little repetitive. And I always

Review by Trevor Kennedy for Phantasmagoria Magazine.Nick Stone is tough-as-nails hard-boiled private dick, known by many on the mean streets of New York City as simply Nick Nightmare, and he takes no shit from no-one either, his trusty twin Berettas always by his side, never afraid to use them. Although when I say no-one, I dont just mean the local goons, mobsters and other undesirables, or even the feds and citys police department. Nah, you see, Mr. Nightmare also has to put up with certain
